The procedure for completing Know Your Customer (KYC)

It is mandatory for investors to complete their one-time Centralized Know Your Customer (CKYC) process before making any investments. CKYC is managed by CERSAI, a Government authorized body, which receives, stores, safeguards and retrieves all KYC records in digital form. CKYC enables investors to complete their KYC for opening accounts and transacting with various entities across the financial services sector viz. Mutual Funds, Banks, Insurance, DP, Stock broker, Depository Participant, etc.

The CKYC Form can be submitted at any of the Investor Service Centre (ISC) of any registered mutual fund. Documents required along with the CKYC Form:

  • Proof of identity (PoI): PAN/any other document (for PAN-exempt investors) listed in the form
  • Proof of address (PoA): Any one document listed in the form
  • NRI/PIO/OCI - Copy of passport/PIO Card/OCI Card and overseas Proof of Address
  • Non-Individuals (Companies, Trusts, etc.) can use KYC-KRA Form for Non Individual.

Copies of all documents & In-Person Verification (IPV) is required to be attested by an authorized official of the registered mutual fund or its Registrar & Transfer Agent (RTA-Cams, Karvy, etc.), Distributor or Bank Manager. All documents are also required to be self-attested.

The procedure for changing address details

Submit a CKYC Form along with a self-attested Proof of Address and PAN/any other proof of Identity at any of the Investor Service Centre (ISC) of any mutual fund.

Non-Individuals can use KYC-KRA Form for Non Individual

Copies of all documents & In-Person Verification (IPV) is required to be attested by an authorized official of the registered mutual fund or its Registrar & Transfer Agent (RTA-Cams, Karvy, etc.), Distributor or Bank Manager. All documents are also required to be self-attested.

Once the change in address has been updated in the centralised KRA records, it will automatically reflect across all mutual funds where the investor holds a folio.

The procedure for changing contact details viz. email, mobile number

Send an email to the service email ID of the mutual fund from your currently registered email ID
or

Connect to the call centre of the mutual fund from your registered mobile number
or

Submit the revised Email ID/Mobile registration at any of the Points of Service (POS)/Investor Service Centre (ISC) of the mutual fund along with a self-attested copy of PAN/Any valid PoI (for PAN-exempt investors)

The procedure for changing bank details

Bank account details can be changed by submitting a Bank Account Registration Form at any ISC of any mutual fund.

Documents required for the purpose of changing bank account details, one can bring any one of the following documents, either in original or attested by the Bank:

  • Cancelled Cheque from the new bank account
  • Latest Bank Statement
  • Latest copy of bank passbook with name & a/c number printed on it
  • Bank Letter

And cancelled cheque from the old bank account

Transact ONLY with SEBI Registered Mutual Funds listed under Intermediaries/Market Infrastructure Institutions on the SEBI website https://www.sebi.gov.in/intermediaries.html.

You can access the relevant details of ISCs along with the email ID and contact numbers of all the mutual funds on their respective website or the Scheme Information Document (SID), or the Statement of Information (SAI) of the concerned mutual fund.
